Paradise into a Parking Lot

No more Sanctuary here
The young vagrants say
As they wasted away
Polluting the air, cruelty abounds
Not caring that these wizened tomes
Could teach them how to fly

A quiet trip to the public library was not as quiet and serene as I'd like. I had settled in to read the copy of the original issues of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which I had requested and waited two weeks for!) when a gaggle of dirty....I think 'vagrants' is the most polite term I could use stomped through the library aisle, teased the handicapped library assistant and proceeded to generally disturb the peace.

All I got to say is: If you can't read quietly in a library any more, where CAN you read?
