August 1, 2007 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to you a letter showing my interest in enrolling for the college’s Nursing Access Program starting September 2007. Through thorough personal inquiry and research, I realize that Nursing and pursuing a Health Care calling in general will certainly be one of the profound and rewarding decisions I can make in my scholastic career. I know, without a doubt, that once it has reached the point where it is my livelihood, I will be a valuable and necessary asset to my community doing what I’ve been trained to do with great pride and satisfaction. Coming from a family with numerous members in the health care field, I’ve known from an early age the joys and equalizing hardships that health care professionals go through day-by-day. Seeing first hand the long hours and effort that my own mother has invested into her career, I never thought I would have what it takes to go into Nursing until I really sat back and weighed all the aspects that pursuing the path of a nurse would offer me. I know it will be hard, I know there will be times where I will question and doubt myself. But I also know that I DO have the support of my family and friends and that if I can succeed in doing this, I will come out a morally stronger and more knowledgeable person.
Though the program is short, I assure you I will put no less than 100% of my effort into it. Diligence, passion, and a thirst to learn and grow are traits I put forth into everything I do, a work ethic I plan to put into this program and in all my future endeavors. Upon completing the program, I intend to apply to a Bachelor of Nursing program at the University of Alberta or the University of Calgary to pursue my degree and hopefully return to work as a Registered Nurse in the Northwest Territories.
Thank you so much for reviewing my application and I await a response from you soon!
Sincerely yours,
Vickie Marquez
