I think it's time for another post consisting mostly of little points and blurbs, so I'll shut up and get to it:
~The visiting priest at Church today was Filipino, which made the homily particularly enjoyable because A. He was Filipino, Pinoy Pride all the way ^.^, B. He had a wonderful excerpt called "The Parable of the Pencil" (which is coming up in a minute) and finally C. (which happens to be the entire point I wanted to make about the Padre) is that as I listened to every accented word that he spoke, it quickly dawned on me that William Shatner ("Beam me up, Scotty!", yes, THAT William Shatner) talks like a Filipino person, in short. Punctuated. Sen....tenses and Syl....lables.
~Rumour has it that Jessica Simpson is covering, in other words totally firetrucking up Dead Or Alive's 1980s dance staple You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) *eye twitch* I'm telling you, it's shoddy, money-grubbing, attention-seeking attempts like these that test my eternal patience with what I'm sure are actually very nice people like Jessica Simpson.
~Allow me to tell you about the Parable of the Pencil. One day a pencil, being of sound sentient mind and body (this is a parable, people, didn't say it was going to go with logic) asked of his maker what meaningful advice he had before it was sent out into the world. The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside and told it that there were only five things it must remember.
One: The most important part of you will always be what's inside.
Two: No matter what mistakes you make, remember that they all can be erased and you can start anew.
Three: You have to let yourself be sharpened from time to time, it's often painful but it will make you a better pencil.
Four: No matter what condition you're in, on whatever surface you encounter, always leave your mark.
and Five: Always let yourself be held in the hands of another and you will accomplish great things.
~And finally....Articles like these just make the world a friendlier and better place, my friends, nothing to it. Love her or hate her, Christina Aguilera unequivably rocks.
